In a surprising collaboration that challenges conventional predictions, Ubisoft has revealed an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, including free additional story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Revealed
According to the formal release, "A strange meeting leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where rumors of prohibited rituals and monstrous metamorphoses echo through the shadows." The narrative features a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who charges the duo with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a secret sect.
The adventure centers on "strange tests and a monstrous enemy" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Changes
The teaser showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser finishes with a dramatic moment showing a character, probably the prisoner, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Players who successfully complete the adventure will acquire an exclusive katana in addition to several objects secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
